Textiles and Crafts

In “Textiles and Crafts,” there are no limits to where creativity can take you. Perhaps you’d like to sew a dress from bubble wrap, crochet slippers from old jeans, or explore entirely different ideas – we have room for you! And if you want to learn the various classic forms of handicrafts, enjoying the process of creating something unique and exciting with your own hands, this subject is also for you.

You’ll delve into the history of handicrafts and, consequently, the history of textiles, understanding their significance in today’s modern trends. Southern Denmark is an area where special patterns and designs have emerged. For example, you may visit the Tønder Art Museum, the birthplace of lace-making, and study their patterns and forms. Alternatively, you might visit Nolde’s museum and draw inspiration from his beautiful colors. You’ll then learn how to apply these influences to contemporary textiles and incorporate various techniques into your very own unique designs.

This subject offers the opportunity for deep concentration and tranquility. Lastly, but certainly not least, it will foster camaraderie through everyone’s creative processes.
