Latin

Latin is a language- as well as culture-class in one. We will begin by gaining an overview over basic linguistic categories and reading basic texts, giving us insight into Roman culture, everyday-life and a political universe, which – although being very different from our own – has influences us on key areas. The reading texts will be accompanied by exercises in writing, in order to raise the overall proficiency-level in Latin.

Look forward to discovering the grand, bloody history of Rome as it is conveyed in Roman literature, while at the same time sharpening your linguistic capabilities considerably.

Latin demands a work-effort, yet the enduring student is rewarded with a key to the history and culture of the Roman Empire as well as to all the main languages of current day Europe.
