Anne-Dorthe Busk Maagaard

Teacher

Anne-Dorthe (b. 1992) lives in Bolderslev with her husband and their three boys. Anne-Dorthe comes from a creative family. Especially during her childhood, she was allowed to explore all her creative ideas. Ceramics have always been a part of Anne-Dorthe’s life, as both her mother has a ceramix workshop and grandmother had one as well. From a young age, she has always been allowed to participate in activities such as raku firings and other projects. In addition to her daily work as a nurse, Anne-Dorthe has her own workshop, Kælder Keramik (Basement Ceramics), and collaborates with Gallery Bodekær, which exhibits some of Anne-Dorthe’s ceramics. In her workshop, she offers classes for both children and adults, events, and much more. In her everyday life, Anne-Dorthe is always engaged in many different creative projects, and she always finds it interesting to try out new methods.

Anne-Dorthe teaches ceramics and the creative workshop at Rønshoved Højskole. She believes that we all have a creative urge, and through both ceramics and other creative projects, we create something collectively or on our own. Anne-Dorthe believes that imagination should be allowed to roam freely, not always with a purpose in mind. Therefore, she is conscious that teaching in both ceramics and the creative workshop should be dynamic and open to changes in plans, as we embrace the ideas that arise collectively along the way.
