Yoga and Movement

Welcome to Yoga and Movement, a class that focuses on presence and physicality. Yoga and Movement is divided into two parts:

The Yoga part emphasizes relaxation, physical exertion, presence, and the opportunity to connect the body, awareness, and breath. We see yoga as something that allows you to focus on yourself and train your awareness in the moment, both in the mind and the body. Other forms of meditative practices may also be included, including mindfulness and breathing exercises. In the yoga section, we will try to include different types of yoga and keep it at a level where both beginners and experienced individuals who want to continue practicing at the folk high school can participate.

The Movement part is centered around using the body in physical activity in the broadest sense. The content can vary widely, which is reflected in the teachers who lead the course. Themes and content can range from fitness, running, team sports, alternative games, and even winter bathing. So, if you’re ready to use your body and mind, choose Yoga and Movement!
