The film zone

This class starts from the idea that the film medium cannot be reduced to pure entertainment. The medium of film is to the highest degree a journey into human existence and psychology. Sometimes this journey is grim and creepy, sometimes intellectually challenging, and other times it calls for thoughtful laughter and joy. The criterion for the choice of films is simply this: they must be good! It also means that we get to see films from all over the world, not just English language films! These are films where there is no doubt about their artistic qualities, and that is precisely why they deserve to be watched.

Before the film screening, the teacher will give a small presentation and introduce the film, its themes, its means of action, its director and actors, etc.
