Danish culture and society

When you arrive in a new country you are curious and eager to learn more about its culture, the music, the literature, the history, social customs, etc.

How do these people think? you might ask. This subject will give you a better idea. We will talk about important personalities and events in Danish history, as well as the phenomenon “Hygge” and all of the many Danish traditions.

We will look at influential cultural figures and you will get the opportunity to be challenged on your personal prejudices about the tall, blonde, bacon-eating Dane who loves to pay 60 percent tax!

And last but not least, you will learn to understand the history and culture of the folk high school and understand the importance that this institution still has today in Denmark.
